I was delighted to read Dead Blood City, I like Saoirse as a character. She isn't perfect, far from it. She's got problems and not just because of her abilities. DBC was a very quick and engaging read, I think I finished it in a day (which as a slow reader says a lot!) So once I finished the first one, I immediately went into this one. I wanted to know what was in store for Saoirse this time!
I was not disappointed. Just like the first book, I was pulled right into the story. I felt like I was putting the puzzle pieces of Saoirse's abilities together along with her. The way that Jo Denning writes, makes everything so real and believable. The many characters that fill this book are vividly written and feel like flesh and blood people
The interactions with Alderisi and Dr. Somerled were awesome! Creepy at times, hot at times, hilarious at time (mostly due to Saoirse's reactions) made these parts stand out. I thoroughly enjoyed the balance act of romance/thriller/paranormal. I loved how everything came together at the end and laid the foundations for the next book in the series! I will definitely read the next book!
I would certainly recommend this book! It was awesome!
